Exeter

Brooke Energy Exeter is located within close proximity to the historic city of Exeter, whilst having great access close to the M5. Set on the outskirts of a large business park, this plant has had a purpose built building to house it.

Brooke Energy Exeter generates 420kw electricity per hour which is eligible for the Renewable Obligation (RO). That is sufficient electricity to power 1018 average British homes per year. Some of the electricity is used within the industrial park, but much is exported to the National Gird.

Generating the electricity also has a by-product of 4.2MW of waste heat per hour that is eligible for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). This heat is used within a belt dryer that dries virgin woodchip with very high moisture content down to levels useful for sale to other biomass boilers in the region.
